The Editorial Board of Pakistan Labor Front and Monthly Manshoor expresses deep sorrow over the demise of Comrade Badruddin Umar, a great Communist intellectual and revolutionary activist of Bangladesh.
Born in 1931, Comrade Badruddin Omar devoted more than six decades to the struggle of workers, farmers and oppressed people. Until his last breath, he continued to be the flagbearer of Marxism and Leninism, a fierce critic of reformism and opportunism and revolutionary ideologies. That remains a steadfast defender.
Comrade Umar's writings, analysis and struggles not only strengthened Bangladesh's leftist movement but also served as intellectual guidance and pathway for communists across South Asia. His involvement with the manifesto and his revolutionary journalism in the region. The solidarity of the will always be remembered.
With his demise, the Communist Movement of South Asia has lost a principled mujahid, rare intellectual and unwavering comrade. His vision, courage and ideological perseverance will continue to light the path for generations of workers and revolutionaries to come.
