The Coordinating Committee of the International Conference of Marxist-Leninist Parties and Organisations (ICMLPO) announces with emotion and revolutionary joy the conditional freedom of our dear and respected comrade Francisco Caraballo on April 18.
Caraballo, 71 years old, has spent the last fourteen years inside a high-security jail. All this time he maintained his revolutionary dignity and firmness, as a consistent communist. Never did his spirit weaken, nor did he give up under misfortunes, despite the harsh conditions that he suffered.
We considered ours these words of the Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Colombia (Marxist-Leninist):
‘...conditional freedom for comrade Caraballo is a victory due to internationalist solidarity, to the ICMLPO, to the left and the democratic forces of Colombia and of the world.
‘...We must continue the struggle for complete freedom of comrade Caraballo, and for the release of the hundreds of political prisoners and prisoners of war from the dungeons of the state headed by Alvaro Uribe.’
We show our solidarity and fraternity to Francisco Caraballo, his wife and his children, as well as to the fraternal Party of Colombia and all democratic and popular forces of our fraternal country.
Long live proletarian internationalism!
