Final Declaration of the 28th International Seminar: Problems of the Revolution in Latin America

Against Genocide and Imperialist War

A little more than thirty years since the end of the so-called Cold War, the world is experiencing the period of utmost conflicts, due to the sharpening of the contradictions among the imperialist powers, which are fueling the danger of a new world conflagration. The seriousness of the current scenario is due to the depth and breadth of the problems that have arisen, to the forces and factors acting on the world stage and to the serious implications that the current problems may bring in the future. But, at the same time, it is a period in which there is evidence of an increase in the struggle and rebellion of the workers, youth, women, peasants and indigenous peoples, who are confronting the anti-popular plans of the governments, demanding rights and condemning the authoritarian and warmongering policies.

We are living in a period in which the fundamental contradictions of the epoch are exacerbated, that is: the contradictions that confront the different imperialist countries against each other; those between the ruling classes against the exploited classes; and those between oppressor countries and oppressed peoples and nations.

Inter-imperialist disputes are seen all over the planet, with the dependent countries being their main victims. In order to control markets and spheres of influence, the imperialist powers are strengthening the existing blocs, arming others, producing new regroupings according to the particular interests of those who compose them.

In the course of the sharpening of the struggles among the imperialist countries and powers, which are due to protecting or expanding their markets and spheres of influence, it is the peoples who are facing the most serious consequences.

The genocide of which the Palestinian people are victims is a painful example. In the name of combating an alleged terrorist action, Israeli Zionism and US imperialism seek to assert their positions in an area – the Middle East – which is of enormous strategic value due to its geographical location and the enormous riches under its soil; that is why its threats and cannons are also aimed at other countries in the region. The tens of thousands of lives claimed in Gaza by the Zionist troops of the bloodthirsty Netanyahu, the hundreds of thousands wounded and expelled from their territory are worth very little in the calculations of the millions in economic and material benefits that dominating the region means for them.

In addition to the fascist Netanyahu and US imperialism, the governments of the countries of the European Union, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom are also responsible for the genocide committed in Gaza. Also all those who have opposed and still oppose an immediate cessation of the criminal invasion, which is tantamount to giving the green light for the massacre in Palestine to continue, are also responsible. States that have trade relations with Israel are also complicit. The peoples of the world are raising their voices in condemnation of the genocide in Gaza, they demand an immediate end to the military intervention and for the Israeli army to leave the Palestinian territory! Netanyahu is a criminal; he must be imprisoned! The Palestinian people have the right to self-determination, to have their own state! We call upon the workers, youth and women to maintain and expand solidarity with the Palestinian people!

More than fifty armed conflicts are currently taking place in different parts of the planet. Behind these are foreign interests, stoked by cliques that respond to the designs of the imperialist countries and powers.

Of all the localized wars, the one that has attracted the most attention due to its geostrategic implications, to the actors involved, is the one in Ukraine, where the Russian invasion has been going on for more than two years. The medium and long-term interests of Russian imperialism are at stake there, on the one hand, as are the interests of US imperialism and its NATO and European Union allies on the other hand,. In this inter-imperialist struggle, the people and youth of Ukraine are the main victims, and we express our solidarity with them.

The peoples do not want wars of aggression, nor military conflicts in which the interests of the monopoly groups and capitalist-imperialist states are settled. The workers, youth and peoples condemn these wars; they seek peace, the peaceful solution to this type of conflict. We demand a ceasefire in Ukraine, the withdrawal of Russian troops and end to intervention of all kinds by the US and NATO!

Another hot spot, which could lead to serious results, is the region of the China Sea (through which 60% of world trade passes) and Southeast Asia. There are not only problems between China and Taiwan, there is the contention among Yankee imperialism, Japanese imperialism and Chinese imperialism for control of the region.

In other parts of the planet there are peoples who are fighting just wars, liberation struggles, actions that seek to put an end to colonial and imperialist domination and oppression. The struggles of the Saharawi peoples, the Yemeni people, the Puerto Rican people, the Kurdish people and the Palestinian people themselves are examples of this. We stand with all the peoples who are fighting for the right to self-determination, for their independence, for national emancipation!

In today's world, the source of wars of aggression is imperialist capitalism: as long as it exists, these conflicts and the danger of a general war will persist. To achieve peace, we must put an end to the causes that create reactionary violence, we must put an end to the regime of exploitation and oppression in which we live, we must bring to victory the triumph of the workers' and people's revolution in each of our countries in order to build a new civilization. That civilization is that of the workers and peasants in power, that of people's power, that of socialism and communism.
